Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Work Area Manager in Medway MC, Rochester. You will lead a busy mail centre area, manage a team of staff, and drive performance and service standards. The role requires shift patterns of 41 hours per week with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule.

You will champion safety, monitor attendance and development, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the Shift Manager to meet operational targets.

Qualifications

• Evidence of leadership capabilities and team management experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders.
• Experience implementing health and safety initiatives and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of full and part-time staff, with regular one-to-one and team meetings.
• Review area performance and plans daily to drive improvements.
• Support the Shift Manager and ensure high-quality service to customers.
