Job summary

Royal Mail Group is seeking a Work Area Manager to lead colleagues within one of our busy processing operations at Gatwick. You’ll create a safe, inclusive and high-performing environment while ensuring operational plans and customer commitments are delivered.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you’ll coach and develop your team, use data-led decision making and continuous improvement to maximise equipment performance and productivity across automated areas.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team in fast-paced operations.
• Strong coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse performance information and identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe and compliant work area, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Manage operational performance, ensuring workplans and scorecard targets are delivered.
• Coach and develop colleagues, providing regular feedback and building capability.
• Use performance data and continuous improvement tools to identify issues and deliver improvements.
• Manage first-line people processes, including attendance and conduct.
• Maintain clear team communication and priorities through briefings and one-to-ones.
