Job summary

Lineage Logistics UK is recruiting for a senior operations leader to oversee all shift functions, drive safety and quality, and manage a large on-site team. You will coordinate maintenance, training, and compliance while ensuring efficient warehouse performance across multiple departments.

You will develop staff, analyse performance data, and partner with Finance, HR, and Sales to meet KPIs and service targets. This is a permanent role within a global logistics leader.

Qualifications

• Confident and experienced leader with a proven track record in resolving operational challenges.
• Experience managing large-scale operations, ideally with automation or temperature-controlled logistics.
• Experience leading, developing, and motivating large teams, preferably as a second-line manager.
• Proficiency using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage inventory and reporting.
• Strong background in logistics, warehousing, and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead all operational functions across shifts and departments, directing managers to meet daily targets.
• Ensure compliance with health and food safety standards and HACCP records.
• Promote safety by enforcing health, safety and hygiene protocols.
• Coordinate training, documentation, and compliance records; uphold quality standards.
• Oversee maintenance, scheduling, and contractor coordination on site.
• Manage warehouse budgeting, staffing, space, equipment, safety and cleanliness.
• Provide performance feedback and assign duties to direct reports.
• Improve procedures for shipments, handling, and inventory control.
• Plan long-range labour needs based on forecasts.
• Achieve KPIs related to cost, productivity, and customer service.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Build partnerships with Finance, HR, Sales, and Continuous Improvement.
• Maintain relationships with on-site customers.
