Job summary

Great Bear is looking for an Operations Controller at its Minworth site to support day-to-day warehouse operations and ensure inbound receipts and outbound loads run efficiently. You will manage outbound schedules, issue staff instructions, and maintain 100% paperwork accuracy while acting as the first contact for drivers on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with high attention to detail.
• Able to demonstrate on-site systems knowledge and work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and offering suggestions for solving problems and improving efficiency.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues.

Our Minworth site have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

Working hours:4 on 4 off days, 6am-6pm.

As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to‑day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.

• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.


• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on‑site systems.


• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.


• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
