Job summary

Culina's Great Bear site in Wales is seeking an Operations Controller to support daily warehouse running, coordinating inbound receipts and outbound loads to meet schedules.

You will issue instructions to staff, manage paperwork, be first point of contact for drivers, and communicate with shift managers to minimise disruptions.

Qualifications

• PC literacy including Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
• Experience with Autostore and RF kit is preferred.
• Able to prioritise work based on scheduling and resources.
• Strong communication and time management skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing outbound schedule to meet collection and delivery times.
• Issuing instructions to staff to maintain smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Control paperwork for outbound vehicles with high accuracy.
• Be the initial point of contact for all drivers on site.
• Communicate issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruption.
• Participate as a proactive member of the operations team and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Maintain good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and failures.
• Provide thorough handover to the next shift highlighting issues and current state.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Produce a detailed handover to following shift with reminders and current state of play.

Job description

As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.,

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play. Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
