Job summary

Great Bear at Minworth is seeking an Operations Controller to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. The role supports day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring inbound receipts and outbound loads run efficiently, with 4 on/off night shifts (6pm-6am).

You will manage outbound schedules, issue instructions to staff, maintain 100% accuracy of outbound paperwork, and be the first point of contact for drivers while coordinating with Shift Managers to minimise disruption.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with high attention to detail.
• Team player who can also work on initiative.
• In-depth knowledge of on-site systems including Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication with customers and third-party hauliers.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Our Minworth site have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 6pm-6am.

As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Operations Controller include:

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
