Job summary

Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) invites applications for an Operations Assistant at Beacon Sports Centre. The role supports leisure, hotel and event operations, performing safety checks, welcoming customers and maintaining facilities.

You will work in a hands-on environment, ensuring cleanliness, safety and high service standards while contributing to a positive community impact through daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a customer-facing environment
• Strong communication and customer care skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy leisure setting
• Desirable Level 2 Fitness Instructor or equivalent
• Desirable First Aid Training or willingness to train

• Open and close facilities in line with operational procedures

• Deliver excellent customer service and support visitors throughout their journey
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the site

As an Operations Assistant in our Sport England team, you'll help ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of Beacon Sports Centre. From supporting customers and maintaining facilities to carrying out operational checks, your work will play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone who uses the centre.

This is a varied and hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You'll support leisure, hotel and event operations while helping to maintain high standards across the site. Whether you're welcoming customers, carrying out safety checks or ensuring facilities are clean, safe and ready for use, your work has purpose and helps create a positive impact on the local community.

What you'll do as an Operations Assistant

Does this sound like you?

• Level 2 Fitness Instructor or equivalent (desirable)
• First Aid Training (desirable or willing to work towards it)
• Experience working in a customer‑facing environment, ideally within leisure, tourism, hospitality or a similar setting
• Strong communication and customer care skills
• Good organisational and planning abilities with excellent attention to detail
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• A professional, positive and approachable attitude with a commitment to delivering high standards

Vetting and checks:

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
