Job Overview

We are currently seeking Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and Anaesthetic Nurses to join our dynamic team in Cardio Thoracic Theatres and the Cath Labs. We will provide you with support, guidance, and a comprehensive training package when you join this fast‑paced environment.

We are the heart of Manchester, performing routine cardio‑thoracic surgery and complex cardiac procedures, and we are also the North West heart and lung transplantation centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the assessment and delivery of care for the peri‑operative patient, implementing and continually evaluating nursing care to optimise outcomes.
• Participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff, and in the teaching of students on both basic and post‑basic courses.
• Maintain personal and professional development.
• Participate in effective utilisation of resources.
• Act in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Professional Code of Conduct.

Qualifications & Experience

Cardio‑thoracic experience is desirable, but not a requirement; full training will be provided. Comprehensive preceptorship is available for newly qualified ODPs and Anaesthetic Nurses. Commitment to cardiac theatre development is expected.
