Babcock International at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth is seeking a Trainee Reactor Engineer to join our Naval Nuclear team. You will support safe maintenance, refit, and operation of reactor systems critical to the UK's submarine fleet, gaining hands-on experience across nuclear, mechanical, and safety disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, defence, or regulated environments.
• Understanding of health, safety, and nuclear safety principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering processes and complex systems.
• Willingness to work onboard submarines and in radiological areas.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate reactor mechanical work packages for maintenance and refit programmes.
• Support planning and execution of nuclear procedures and production activities.
• Act as Responsible Officer for radiologically implicated equipment when required.
• Ensure personnel are qualified, experienced, and equipped to undertake tasks safely.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and nuclear safety requirements.
