Job summary

Babcock is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for its Devonport site. You will work within the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant Interface Equipment Team to design and develop temporary mechanical equipment interfacing with submarine reactor systems.

The role involves regulated environments, delivering outputs across the engineering lifecycle and supporting Navy submarine maintenance and readiness. The successful candidate will contribute to design reviews, hazard studies and analyses, collaborating

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Progress toward professional registration is desirable.
• Experience with CAD, engineering analysis or fluid systems design.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering designs, technical documentation and assessments.
• Develop mechanical solutions through the design lifecycle from concept to implementation.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Support design reviews, hazard studies and engineering analyses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet schedules and budgets.
