Job summary

At Babcock International, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth, we seek an Assistant Scientist Reactor Chemistry to support operations essential to the UK's nuclear-powered submarine fleet.

You will assist monitoring, data recording, chemical handling and compliance, working with a team to maintain safety, quality and regulatory standards while pursuing development of reactor chemistry capabilities on a full-time, on-site basis.

Qualifications

• Understanding of chemistry or analytical science principles.
• Experience with monitoring or analysis in a lab.
• Ability to maintain technical records and data.
• Experience following procedures and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Support reactor chemistry monitoring, surveillance and analytical activities.
• Maintain accurate technical records and laboratory data.
• Assist with control, storage and inventory of chemicals and materials.
• Follow laboratory procedures to meet safety and quality standards.
• Contribute to maintaining standards and development of reactor chemistry capability.
