Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Nuclear Facilities Electrical Engineer for Devonport Royal Dockyard, near Plymouth. The role focuses on safe, reliable operation of nuclear facilities equipment, with testing, inspection and fault analysis carried out by an experienced engineer.

You’ll join a team responsible for maintenance, repair and fault response across critical infrastructure, with opportunities to grow specialist knowledge in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, repairing or diagnosing faults on heavy-duty electrical systems.
• Proven ability to produce accurate technical records and documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, testing, calibration and commissioning on nuclear facilities equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to maintain performance.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair and breakdown activities with safety, quality, cost and time in mind.
• Record defects and emergent work with precise technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards and site licence conditions.
