Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a Customer Service Apprentice to join the Homeless Prevention Response Team and earn while you learn.

You will support residents, partner agencies and colleagues, developing administrative and customer service skills while working towards a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship. This onsite role requires five days per week with DBS check and on-the-job mentoring.

Qualifications

• Has genuine interest in customer service and helping residents.
• Is willing to undertake a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and is organised.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone enquiries and take messages.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and partner agencies.
• Support admin tasks including letters, appointments and record keeping.
• Update and maintain case management systems.
• Process and record homelessness approaches.
• Signpost customers to appropriate services and support.
• Collect and record information for performance monitoring and government returns.
• Work closely with Housing Advice Assistants and other service areas.
