Job summary

Gravesham Borough Council is offering an Apprenticeship for a Customer Service Officer to learn on the job within a supportive team. You will undertake a range of admin tasks, gather information and assist with statistics, while developing customer-facing skills.

You will start with training and progress toward handling enquiries by phone, email and in person, building IT, organisation and communication abilities for a future career in customer service.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or higher are required.
• Training course: Customer service practitioner (level 2) as part of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Support with general administrative tasks and assist with gathering information and statistics.
• Develop IT, organisation and communication skills while assisting colleagues.
• Build confidence in speaking with customers by telephone, email and face-to-face.
• Progressively take on more responsibility for responding to customer enquiries.
• Provide helpful and friendly advice and guidance to customers.
• Work with experienced colleagues in a busy and supportive team to learn the role.
