Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council invites applications for a Housing Support Officer based in Dudley Town Centre. The role is full-time on a fixed-term 12-month contract, Grade 7, and sits within the Homelessness Prevention & Response Team.

You will manage a personal caseload, prevent homelessness where possible, and work with vulnerable adults to provide housing options guidance and high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Housing and homelessness knowledge required.
• Experience in supporting vulnerable adults is essential.
• Strong customer service and case-management skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Prevent homelessness through a variety of activities.
• Support case managers in determining DMBC’s legal responsibility for homeless cases.
• Manage a personal caseload and prevent homelessness where possible.
• Be an effective member of the Homelessness Prevention and Response Team with high-quality customer service.
• Develop service areas and/or partnership initiatives.
