Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Stevenage to join the Community and Estates Management teams. You will perform repairs, maintenance tasks, and ensure statutory compliance across building fabric and M&E systems, while keeping residents informed of progress and schedules.

You will diagnose faults, undertake routine trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and decorating, and coordinate with external contractors when required, ensuring safety and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Fluent English verbal and written communication.
• Awareness of health and safety on site.
• Willingness to continually improve knowledge and skills.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Building Crafts Operative, City & Guilds or NVQ).

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness and upkeep within the community.
• Communicate effectively with residents, clients and contractors.
• Use maintenance system to log tasks and provide updates to residents.
• Diagnose faults and undertake minor repairs across plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical works.
• Supervise external contractors and ensure works meet safety and budget parameters.
• Ensure annual safety checks, PAT testing and emergency lighting inspections are completed.
• Keep gardens and grounds well maintained and supervise contractors as needed.
