Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG in Redditch is seeking an IT Technician to join our onsite support team. You will be the first point of contact for end users, delivering hands-on support and ensuring minimal disruption to productivity.

In this role you will troubleshoot desktop and OS issues, install and configure software, and provide clear guidance to users while maintaining high standards of customer service in a busy TechBar environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, service desk or desktop support.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows and end-user devices.
• Experience with software installations and device deployments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies and productivity tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Organised with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple requests.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience supporting mobile devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide walk-up support to end users through the onsite TechBar service.
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, operating system and application-related incidents.
• Provide IT guidance, advice and "how-to" support to users.
• Install, configure and re-install software and applications to resolve incidents and requests.
• Complete software-related service requests in line with agreed service levels.
• Deploy and configure standard desktop and laptop builds.
• Perform image reloads and device rebuilds following hardware or software failure.
• Resolve issues that require physical, hands-on intervention and cannot be addressed remotely.
• Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including joiners and leavers processes.
• Provide mobile device support and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and resolutions.
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
