Job summary

Computacenter is seeking an IT Technician to join our onsite TechBar, delivering face-to-face technical assistance and ensuring colleagues stay productive.

As the first point of contact, you will troubleshoot Windows, applications, and end-user devices, guide users, and help deploy standard builds. If you enjoy problem solving and working directly with users, this role offers variety across technologies and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, service desk, or desktop support.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows OS and end-user devices.
• Experience with software installation, configurations and deployments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies and standard productivity tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple requests.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting mobile devices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide walk-up support to end users at the onsite TechBar.
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, OS and application incidents.
• Give IT guidance and how-to support to users.
• Install and configure software to resolve incidents and requests.
• Complete software-related service requests per SLAs.
• Deploy and configure standard desktop and laptop builds.
• Perform image reloads and device rebuilds after failures.
• Resolve issues needing hands-on intervention not solvable remotely.
• Assist onboarding and offboarding, including joiners and leavers.
• Support and troubleshoot mobile devices.
• Keep accurate records of incidents, requests and resolutions.
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service at all times.
