Job summary

AWD Recruitment is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide onsite support for schools across Swindon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage Microsoft 365 environments and user accounts, and maintain clear ticket records while building strong relationships with educational customers.

The role requires travel to customer sites, a full UK driving licence, and a flexible approach to working hours.

Qualifications

• Previous IT support experience in a business, education, service desk or similar environment
• Good knowledge of Windows PCs, common business applications and Microsoft 365
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint or cloud-managed devices
• Understanding of networking, wireless systems, filtering, backup or cybersecurity
• Methodical troubleshooting and clear communication with non-technical users
• Strong customer service, organisation and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Onsite technical support: Deliver scheduled visits and support staff across schools
• Troubleshooting and resolution: Diagnose hardware, software, accounts and classroom tech issues
• Microsoft 365 and devices: Support Windows devices, iPads, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
• Networks and infrastructure: Troubleshoot wired/wireless networks and printers
• Ticket and SLA management: Log, own and update tickets with clear notes
• Customer relationships: Act as IT contact for allocated schools and build trust
• Deployments and projects: Prepare equipment and support rollouts and cloud projects
• Planning and documentation: Manage onsite time and maintain documentation
