Spectrum IT Recruitment in Sutton-in-Ashfield is seeking an IT Support professional early in their career to support the service desk and keep IT systems running smoothly.

You will own the service desk queue, resolve hardware and software issues, and assist with backups, security and system upgrades. The role emphasises learning, teamwork and customer-focused support as you grow into broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in IT support or similar service desk role.
• Experience with Windows desktop and server systems.
• Administration of Microsoft 365 services (Entra ID, Exchange Online, M365 admin centre) and on‑prem Active Directory.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a practical user support approach.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges; virtualization (Hyper‑V) and cloud (AWS/Azure) familiarity or certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the service desk queue, maintain tickets, monitor service levels, and lead weekly ticket reviews.
• Investigate and resolve hardware, software and network problems; explain solutions clearly to users.
• Assist with system updates, backups and preventive maintenance to keep systems reliable.
• Help maintain IT security measures and contribute to upgrades, migrations and installations.
• Liaise with third‑party vendors to resolve issues and support new system implementations.
