Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the Sizewell C Construction Delivery Team in Leiston. The role covers environmental performance, regulatory compliance, and sustainable delivery on a major project.

You’ll work with construction teams and Tier 1 partners, reviewing EMS, permits and RAMS, and ensuring standards meet project requirements. On-site, you’ll drive environmental best practice and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Management or Environmental Advisor role within construction or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation for construction/industrial projects.
• Experience with EMS and ISO 14001 principles.
• Understanding of client/contractor relationships and CDM Regulations 2015.
• Degree or equivalent in an environmental or related discipline.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections across contractor work areas and report environmental issues.
• Provide practical advice on UK environmental legislation, permits and planning constraints.
• Review Contractors’ Environmental Management Plans and RAMS for compliance.
• Support environmental audits and self-assessments across construction activities.
• Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with contractors and project teams to promote environmental best practice.
