Job summary

EDF is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join the Sizewell C Construction Delivery Team in Leiston, Suffolk. The role is permanent and full-time, based onsite five days a week, with a salary range £56,000–£63,000, depending on experience.

You will carry out site inspections, advise on UK environmental legislation, review RAMS and EMS compliance, and support audits. The team focuses on environmental performance and regulatory compliance across the project.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Environmental Management or Environmental Advisor role within a construction, infrastructure or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to construction or industrial projects.
• Experience working with an Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 14001 principles.
• Understanding of the client/contractor relationship and CDM Regulations 2015.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental or related discipline.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Confidence working independently in a busy, site-based construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections across contractor work areas, identifying and reporting environmental issues.
• Provide practical advice on UK environmental legislation, permits and planning constraints.
• Review contractors’ Environmental Management Plans and RAMS, ensuring compliance with project standards and environmental requirements.
• Support environmental audits and self-assessments across construction activities.
• Investigate environmental incidents and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
• Work collaboratively with contractors and project teams to promote environmental best practice.
• Identify and elevate environmental and contractual risks appropriately.
