Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management across the Sizewell C project in Suffolk. You will guide construction teams, monitor compliance with UK legislation and permits, and manage environmental risks to ensure safe, sustainable delivery on site.

The role requires hands-on site experience, ISO 14001 familiarity and strong stakeholder engagement. A UK driving licence and willingness to work on site ~3 days per week are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Environmental Management, Science, Ecology, Geography or related discipline.
• IEMA or similar professional membership preferred.
• Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification desirable.
• Experience on major construction/infrastructure projects sought.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental permitting and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental management across the Sizewell C project, guiding teams and stakeholders.
• Drive compliance with UK environmental legislation, permits, licences and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Monitor environmental performance on site through inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Build environmental culture through briefings, training and regulator liaison.
