Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Glasgow is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our precision machining team. You will work on multi-axis machines, reading blueprints, and preparing tooling to produce components in various steels and alloys.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with at least 5 years of CNC experience, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances using precision inspection tools. On-site roles include a rotating shift pattern with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in lean environments
• Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and use precision inspection tools

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements
• Download and edit programs from DNC and interpret work instructions
• Set up tooling, calculate feeds and speeds for diverse steel grades
• Inspect finished components with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges
• Perform quality checks and ensure products meet specifications
