Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Glasgow is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This role operates multi-axis machines to produce critical components in a lean environment, reading blueprints and process sheets, and maintaining tight tolerances.

Applicants should have a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent, 5+ years CNC experience, familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas controls, and strong inspection skills.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in machining.
• Minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience in lean environments.
• Experience with multi-axis machine tools ( milling/turning/grinding).
• Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and use precision inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC machines, select tooling and calculate feeds/speeds.
• Download and interpret programs from DNC storage; edit or write programs as needed.
• Perform quality inspections using micrometers, height gauges and bore gauges.
