Job summary

Dover Precision Components, based in Glasgow, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to design and plan CNC programs, using CAM software to control contour path machining of metal parts. You will support lean manufacturing initiatives and ensure efficient tool and fixturing usage across multi-axis milling/turning operations.

Ideally you will have 5+ years in a precision engineering environment, with fluent CNC programming and experience with FANUC or HEIDENHAIN controls, plus CAD/CAM tools like

Qualifications

• Technical or advanced trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Over 5 years experience in a similar role, within a precision engineering work environment.
• Fluent in CNC programming and strong skills in Microsoft Office.
• Experience and working knowledge of CNC Controls such as FANUC or HEIDENHAIN.
• CAD/CAM software such as FeatureCAM, EdgeCAM, Vericut.

Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, sketches and design data to determine cuts, tool selection, speeds and feeds.
• Determine reference points and machine cutting directions.
• Analyse routings during programming and update processes for full tool capability.
• Create CNC programs in line with routed operations using CAM software.
• Develop and maintain standard programming guidelines.
