Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Glasgow is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our CAM facility. You will operate CNC centres for turning, milling and grinding to produce customised bearings and components from steel, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years' experience on multi-axis machines, with proficiency in Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas controls, and the ability to hold tight tolerances below 0.0025 mm.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline.
• 5 years' CNC machine tool experience in lean environments.
• Experience with multi-axis milling/turning.
• Proficient with Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas controls.
• Able to hold tolerances < 0.0025 mm and use precision metrology.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints and sketches.
• Set up machines, select tooling and set feeds/speeds.
• Download and edit CNC programs from a DNC system.
• Perform quality inspections with micrometers and gauges.
• Maintain lean manufacturing to reduce setup times and boost productivity.
• Box, oil, wrap and ship final components.
