Fasthosts is seeking a 2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our Gloucester city centre office. This 100% onsite role covers 12-hour shifts (4-on, 4-off) and involves monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents across Windows and Linux environments, with a focus on stability and performance.

You will troubleshoot via phone, email and ticketing systems, collaborate with European teams, and work to root out issues for permanent fixes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments.
• Foundational understanding of virtualization.
• Customer support experience with clear written and verbal communication.
• A cool head under pressure, logical problem-solving skills, and a genuine hunger to learn.

Responsibilities

• Guard the Grid: Monitor servers, networks, and applications 24/7 and act on alerts.
• Troubleshoot & Resolve: Provide 2nd-line IT support via phone, email, and ticketing systems to keep users moving.
• Keep Systems Stable: Perform core daily tasks and routine maintenance for security and performance.
• Fix Root Causes: Identify recurring issues and work with teams to implement lasting fixes.
• Collaborate Across Europe: Escalate complex issues smoothly and coordinate with core teams to deliver seamless service.
