Job summary

Knowsley Lane Primary School is seeking an outstanding Teaching Assistant Level 2 (One to One SEND Support) to support learning for children with SEND. The role involves 32.5 hours per week during term time, with a pro‑rated salary including SEN allowance.

The successful candidate will have prior TA experience, knowledge of SEN strategies, and a calm, patient, and reliable approach to supporting pupils with SEMH and learning needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
• Experience of working with children with SEN.
• Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech & language difficulties).
• Ability to reinforce lesson material, adapt resources, and assist with tasks to support learning progress.
• Patience, empathy, resilience and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Excellent behaviour management skills with the ability to work as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support children with SEND inside and outside the classroom.
• Work closely with class teachers to support the child and learning activities.
• Encourage engagement with various activities to help them achieve success.
• Maintain a calm and supportive learning environment and manage behaviour as part of a team.
