Job summary

Outwood Academy Freeston, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, is seeking a temporary One to One Tutor in English until May 2027. The role delivers intervention programmes to individual pupils and plans lessons and resources to match their needs.

You will work with small groups of two to four or one-to-one across the English curriculum, supporting GCSE revision and promoting the academy's inclusive ethos while safeguarding students.

Qualifications

• Graduate in a related subject, or AS/A2 level in a relevant subject, or QTS.
• Strong written and verbal communication and IT skills.
• Ability to support science work up to GCSE level.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intervention programmes to individual pupils.
• Plan, implement and deliver a differentiated curriculum for individual students.
• Develop intervention materials, lesson plans and resources.
• Support students in small groups or one-to-one across English.
• Liaise with Head of Department and teachers and provide feedback.
• Report on pupil progress and support exam revision sessions.
• Maintain safeguarding procedures at all times.

What the job involves

• Deliver intervention programmes to individual pupils
• Plan, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum for individual students
• Develop intervention material, lesson plans and resources
• Support students in small groups of two to four, or one-to-one, across the English curriculum
• Work with department staff to prepare and implement appropriate learning experiences
• Report on individual pupil progress
• Liaise with the Head of Department and teachers and provide feedback
• Support exam revision sessions
• Encourage academic growth and promote the academy's inclusive ethos
• Comply with child safeguarding procedures at all times
