Kensington Care Home in Northallerton is seeking a reliable Maintenance Person to join our on-site team. You will perform day-to-day repairs and upkeep, identify potential issues, and ensure all safety checks meet high standards while coordinating with the Home Manager to prioritise tasks.

The role requires practical hands-on skills, DBS clearance, and a local-or-close-to-Northallerton presence to respond to occasional emergencies.

Qualifikationen

• Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the care home, carrying out repairs and identifying potential issues.
• Ensure all safety checks are completed to a high standard.
• Flexible and practical problem solving to keep the home safe and well-maintained.

Aufgaben

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the home.
• Weekly, monthly and year compliance checks.
• Fire alarm testing and record keeping.
• Call bell system checks and recording.
• Painting and decorating as required.
• Garden upkeep including planting pots and bedding plants.
• PAT testing.
• Travel by car to collect urgent medications and equipment.
• Review maintenance log daily and address urgent issues.
• Arrange external contractor work with Home Manager when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of checks and completed works.
• Liaise with external contractors when required.
• Report accidents, incidents and hazards to management.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, COSHH and Fire Safety regulations.
• Usual hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday-Friday.
• Undergo enhanced DBS check and provide references.
