Job summary

Cygnet Kenney House in Oldham is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Operative to join our team. You'll help provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, carrying out repairs and routine maintenance across the site.

This full-time role (42 hours per week) involves traveling to other sites, recording maintenance information, and being on call for emergencies. An eye for detail and practical DIY skills are essential; a DBS check will be required to join the team, ensuring high standards of

Qualifications

• Experienced in a similar role or self-employed in recent years.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Skilled at DIY and general maintenance.
• Preferably experienced in electrical/plumbing/construction industry.
• Friendly, conscientious and a good team member with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service.
• Carry out joinery, plumbing, painting and general building tasks.
• Maintain equipment, services & vehicles.
• Comply with safe working practices and report faults and hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly, including exits and fire safety devices.
