Job summary

Buy It Direct is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to support and improve our UK logistics and warehouse operations. This hands-on role requires time on-site with warehouse teams, depot managers and delivery colleagues, observing processes and identifying where improvements are needed.

You will combine on-the-ground insights with data analysis, process mapping and root cause analysis to understand issues, opportunities and the actions required.

Responsibilities

• Spend regular time in the operation with warehouse teams, depot managers and delivery colleagues to understand how processes work in practice.
• Review warehouse, logistics and last-mile delivery processes from end to end, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve.
• Use data, observations and feedback to identify trends, damage issues, process gaps, cost inefficiencies and areas of underperformance.
• Apply root cause analysis and process improvement methods to understand why issues are happening and agree practical solutions.
• Manage a portfolio of operational improvement projects and workstreams, ensuring activity is prioritised, delivered on time and linked to clear business outcomes.
• Create clear action plans and work with operational teams to implement improvements on the ground.
• Support improvements across damage reduction, handling, loading, driver processes, depot ways of working and operational consistency.
• Develop scorecards, reporting and monitoring tools to track performance and measure the impact of improvements.
• Work closely with Operational Leads, Business Solutions and key stakeholders to deliver change across multiple sites.
• Identify opportunities for system, reporting or technology improvements, including TMS, WMS and automation.
• Challenge processes, behaviours or standards that are not delivering the right outcome, while supporting and influencing teams to embed better ways of working.
• Complete reviews to confirm that improvements have been delivered, sustained and can be built on.
• Travel between UK sites and work across different shifts where required.
