On‑Site IT Engineer — 2nd/3rd Line Support & Cloud

Job summary

Hydesville Tower School is seeking an IT Site Engineer to join our IT team. You will provide 2nd line support, resolve complex issues, and act as the primary IT contact for your site, working closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Applications teams.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, manage user accounts, and contribute to IT projects and new system implementations while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a 2nd or 3rd line IT Support role, ideally within an education or service environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows server environments and desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11).
• Experience managing Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Google Workspace environments.
• Understanding of networking technologies, including LAN/WAN and Cisco Meraki.
• Familiarity with device management tools (Intune, Jamf).

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line IT support for hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues.
• Act as the main IT contact for the designated site, building strong relationships with staff.
• Manage incidents and service requests through to resolution and escalate when needed.
• Support and mentor 1st and 2nd line engineers as a senior escalation point.
• Administer user accounts and access across AD, M365, Azure AD, and Google Workspace.
• Support Windows server environments, cloud services, and business applications.
• Manage laptops, mobile devices, and tablets, including Intune and Jamf administration.
• Support networking equipment and multi-site infrastructure.
