Johnson Controls is Hiring a Fire Alarm Service Engineer for a static on-site role at a major facility in Ashford, Kent. The role focuses on servicing fire alarm systems and related gas suppression technologies, with daily client interaction to ensure smooth operations and strict site safety.

You will own service delivery, maintain high quality, and advise the client on remedial actions and potential upgrades. The position includes a company vehicle and extensive on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with fire detection and fire alarm systems.
• Experience in a service-focused business.
• Knowledge of gas suppression systems and their maintenance.
• Understanding of fire legislation, standards, and associated field devices.
• Integrity testing experience or willingness to train.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel for training.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and fault-find on fire detection and alarm systems.
• Receive training in gas suppression and mechanical suppression systems.
• Carry out integrity testing (training provided if required).
• Complete service documentation accurately using an iPad and service software.
• Liaise with the client to obtain permits to work and ensure compliance with site procedures.
• Attend mandatory training and maintain required certifications.
• Support occasional mechanical and passive fire protection tasks.
• Participate in the on-call rota on a rotating weekly basis.
• Identify, escalate, and report health and safety concerns promptly.
• Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism and inclusivity.
