Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Systems Technician to install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites in the UK.

You will work with Gent, Advanced, Kentec and other leading systems, ensuring compliance and high customer service standards. The role includes PPMs, repairs, system programming, and on-site surveys with clear progression and ongoing manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within the fire protection industry.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, servicing and fault finding.
• Good understanding of BS 5839 and relevant industry standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings and system documentation.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding and repairs.
• Programme and configure fire alarm control panels and networked systems.
• Complete upgrades, modifications and remedial works.
• Service, maintain and test gaseous and water mist fire suppression systems.
• Attend reactive call-outs and support commissioning/decommissioning activities.
• Conduct site surveys, technical assessments and provide customer support.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
