Job summary

The Abbey seeks an experienced Building Surveyor to join as Technical Officer – Damp, Mould & Disrepair on-site in Tamworth. You will lead service delivery, handle complex damp and disrepair cases, and ensure timely inspections and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have substantial surveying experience in housing associations, private practice, or local authorities, with exposure to disrepair claims and regulatory requirements such as Awaab's Law.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role within housing associations, private practice, local authorities, or similar.
• Experience managing housing disrepair claims and interfacing with legal processes is desirable.
• Experience preparing technical evidence or witness statements would be advantageous.
• Awareness or preparation for Awaab's Law preferable.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in service delivery.
• Manage complex damp, mould and disrepair cases.
• Undertake inspections and prepare specifications of work.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure statutory timescales are met.
• Support service improvements and compliance reporting.
• Work proactively to reduce risk and improve customer outcomes.
