Job summary

A2Dominion is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our Repairs & Maintenance team, focusing on damp, mould and disrepair to improve residents’ homes. You’ll assess condition, diagnose issues and manage surveys, delivering high-quality, resident-focused solutions in social housing settings.

You’ll work in a regulated environment, applying Awaab’s Law, HHSRS and CDM Regulations 2015 while coordinating with contractors and internal teams for lasting improvements.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
• HNC or degree in Building Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in housing survey/maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of damp, mould & disrepair and related legislation.
• Familiarity with Awaab’s Law, HHSRS and CDM Regulations 2015.
• Experience managing contractors and writing specifications.
• Budgets, invoicing and NHF Schedule of Rates (M3NHF).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Surveying & Inspections: carry out surveys to assess condition and risks.
• Damp, Mould & Disrepair: diagnose and manage cases in line with law.
• Repairs & Project Management: specify works and oversee repairs.
• Compliance & Standards: ensure building regs, CDM 2015, HHSRS.
• Contract Management: monitor performance and approve extra works.
• Financial Management: manage budgets and NHF rate schedules.
• Technical Expertise: produce reports and provide specialist advice.
• Customer Focus: lead complaint resolution and resident service.
• Risk Management: monitor cost, programme and safety risks.
• Case Management Systems: use Dynamics and Total mobile.
• Partnership Working: collaborate with internal teams and contractors.
