Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is seeking Relief Special Carers to join Grianan and Carloway Day Centres. The role focuses on supporting adults with complex needs to maximise inclusion, independence and outcomes, in various settings including overnight support where needed.

Candidates should have experience with people with additional needs and SVQ Level II in Care or be able to attain it within 36 months after registration with SSSC. PVG clearance is required; PPE must be worn.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults with additional needs is essential.
• Must hold SVQ Level II in Care or be able to undertake and achieve this qualification within 36 months.
• Willingness to wear PPE as required by roles at the centres.
• PVG scheme membership is required by law for regulated roles with adults.
• Hours are on an as and when required basis.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support adults with additional needs to maximise inclusion, independence and planned outcomes.
• Work across a variety of settings, including overnight support when necessary.
• Be part of a team and contribute to a safe, supportive environment for service users.
• Attend interviews in person to meet the team and location.
