Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is recruiting a Social Care Worker for Smiddybrae House. The role is on an as and when required basis, supporting service users with social and domestic care needs and maintaining confidentiality in all duties.

You will work under the Registered Manager and must hold SVQ2 with progression to SVQ3, enabling SSSC registration within 3 years. PVG disclosure is required for this regulated role.

Qualifications

• Must have SVQ2 in Social Care and aim to achieve SVQ3 within 3 years of appointment.
• Must be able to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks and duties in social and domestic care needs of service users.
• Observe confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure safety and comfort of service users.
• Assist with personal care in keeping with Care Inspectorate standards.
• Work unsocial hours on a rota.
