Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an on-call firefighter for Newport Fire Station. This part-time role combines everyday life with responding to emergencies when paged, protecting communities and assets.

Training is provided; no previous fire service experience is required. Applicants must be able to reach the station quickly, maintain good physical fitness, and consent to a Standard DBS Check as part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit and able to reach the fire station quickly after being alerted.
• No prior experience required; comprehensive training provided.
• Vetting includes a Standard DBS Check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies as part of the on-call team.
• Engage with the community and attend events when not responding to incidents.
• Handle a wide range of incidents including fires, floods, road accidents, and other emergencies.
