Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service seeks an on-call firefighter to respond to emergencies and engage with the community. The role is based at Botley Fire Station with a minimum of 31 on-call hours per week and a permanent contract.

No prior experience is required as a comprehensive training programme is provided. You must live or work within 4 minutes of the fire station and be physically fit to meet the demands of the role.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; comprehensive training provided.
• Must be able to reach the fire station quickly and safely after being alerted.
• Physical fitness is essential and considered of utmost importance.
• You must live or work within 4 minutes to the Fire Station.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a range of emergencies as part of the on-call team.
• Engage with the community and participate in events when called.
• Work on-call shifts that may include various incident types (floods, road accidents, etc.).
