Job summary

Serco Limited in Leicester is seeking an OMU Hub Manager – Public Protection to lead the delivery of offender management and public protection services across the Offender Management Unit. You will oversee parole, MAPPA, and multi-agency collaboration, ensuring compliance, high standards and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong people management, coaching and staff development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, delegate, and meet deadlines.
• Sound knowledge of Public Protection Policy Frameworks and MAPPA or ability to develop it quickly.
• Experience within a prison/offender management or custodial environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Prison Offender Managers and OMU administrative teams, ensuring effective delivery of offender management services.
• Oversee parole, MAPPA, public protection processes in line with policy frameworks and local procedures.
• Drive performance against key performance targets and contractual requirements, proactively identifying and resolving operational challenges.
• Build strong working relationships with internal departments and external partner agencies to support effective multi-agency working.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development opportunities for colleagues, creating a positive and rehabilitative culture.
• Ensure accurate sentence calculations, record keeping, reporting and governance standards are maintained.

Salary: £36,000 – £38,000 per annum, dependant on experience plus excellent benefits

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 6.30am – 6pm

As an OMU Hub Manager – Public Protection in our Justice and Immigration team, you'll lead the delivery of critical offender management and public protection services, ensuring high standards, compliance and operational excellence across the Offender Management Unit (OMU). Your leadership will help create safer communities while supporting rehabilitation and positive outcomes for those in custody.

This is a role with real purpose. You'll lead a diverse team responsible for managing key offender management processes from arrival into custody through to release, overseeing public protection arrangements, parole processes and multi-agency collaboration. What you’ll do as OMU Hub Manager – Public Protection

• Proven management experience with the ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong people management skills, including performance management, coaching and employee development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, delegate effectively and deliver against competing deadlines.
• Sound knowledge of Public Protection Policy Frameworks and MAPPA guidance, or the ability to quickly develop expertise.
• Experience within a prison, offender management or custodial environment is desirable.
