Job summary

A regional NHS Trust located in Sunderland is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age to join its community mental health team. The post holder will provide expertise in assessing and treating older adults with psychiatric concerns, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead clinical improvements. This position offers a competitive salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 annually, with opportunities for flexible working, teaching, and a generous relocation package.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register (General Psychiatry) or eligible.
  • Approved Clinician Status.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical assessment and diagnosis for patients with mental illness.
  • Lead and advise the Community Mental Health Team.
  • Collaborate with GP's and primary care clinicians.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and train new members.
