Job summary

GP Solution is seeking a Protection and Control Project Engineer for a major offshore wind project in Scotland. The role involves providing protection and control engineering support across multiple projects, defining technical scope in development phases, and evaluating third-party designs as projects move into delivery.

You will configure protection and control equipment, calculate protection settings, and assess third-party factory acceptance tests.

Qualifications

  • HNC-level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in transmission protection and control applications.
  • Ability to assess and critically evaluate protection solutions.
  • Strong communication with project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide protection and control engineering support across multiple projects, defining technical scope in development phases and evaluating third-party designs for delivery.
  • Configure protection and control equipment per application and scheme requirements, including calculation and preparation of protection settings.
  • Assess and adjudicate third-party contractor factory acceptance tests on protection and control equipment for new-build and retrofit applications.
  • Support multi-disciplinary project teams in identifying engineering risks and opportunities for project excellence.
  • Deliver outputs to programme and contribute to digital design capabilities and scheme standardisation works.
