Job summary

SSE plc, based in Scotland, is seeking a Project Manager for the Offshore team delivering the Western Isles HVDC Link. You will manage civil works for offshore electrical infrastructure, focusing on underground cabling and enabling works, reporting to the Senior Project Manager.

This permanent, full-time role requires on-site presence in the North West Scotland region, coordinating across internal teams and external partners to ensure safe, timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering civil engineering or linear infrastructure projects.
• Experience with underground HV/EHV cable routes.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation (CDM).
• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; professional membership desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of underground cable civil engineering packages, ensuring scope and interfaces are defined and achieved.
• Drive health, safety and compliance aligned with CDM requirements and policies.
• Manage programme, risk and commercial performance, including budgets and change control.
• Oversee contractor, consultant and supplier performance and procurement activities.
• Coordinate design, consents and stakeholder interfaces to optimise safety and project outcomes.
