Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Training and Competency Specialist to administer onboarding, competency assurance, and training programs, ensuring personnel are qualified and compliant for safe, effective offshore operations.

You will partner with Operations, HR, and training providers to coordinate activities, maintain records, generate reports, and support continuous improvement of training and competency processes across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience; Training and Development preferred.
• Experienced in the development, updating and administration of competency programs.
• Extensive knowledge of training required to support HSE and Manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrable experience in training administration, learning and development, competency management, or a related field.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer training, competency, and onboarding programs.
• Monitor employee compliance with training, certifications, and competency requirements.
• Maintain accurate training and competency records within company systems.
• Generate training reports and compliance metrics for management.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of training and competency processes.
• Coordinate training schedules, resources, and third-party training providers.
• Facilitate onboarding activities and role-specific training plans for new hires.
• Partner with managers to identify training needs and workforce development opportunities.
• Support internal and external audits related to training and competency requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and HSEQ standards.
• Experience supporting technical, industrial, offshore, or operational environments.
• Experience with competency-based workforce development programs.
• Knowledge of training management systems such as Oracle Fusion or similar platforms.
