Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in ocean freight or freight forwarding, with pricing exposure.
• Knowledge of ocean freight rates and pricing.

• Experience in Ocean Pricing or related commercial roles is a plus.

Ocean Pricing Coordinator

We're working with a well-established international logistics business who are looking for an Ocean Pricing Coordinator to join their team in Birmingham.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in ocean freight, freight forwarding or logistics pricing who enjoys working with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure competitive and accurate rates.

The Role

As an Ocean Pricing Coordinator, you'll be responsible for supporting the pricing process across ocean freight, working closely with carriers, suppliers, customers and operational teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Obtaining and negotiating ocean freight rates with shipping lines and suppliers
• Preparing and providing accurate quotations to customers
• Maintaining and updating pricing and rate information
• Monitoring market rates and identifying competitive pricing opportunities
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure pricing is accurate and commercially viable
• Supporting customer and account requirements
• Building strong relationships with carriers, suppliers and customers
• Ensuring pricing information is maintained accurately within internal systems
• Assisting with general ocean freight pricing and commercial activities

About You

We're looking for someone who has experience within ocean freight or freight forwarding, ideally with previous exposure to pricing, quotations or commercial coordination.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience within ocean freight / sea freight / freight forwarding
• Experience dealing with shipping lines, carriers or freight suppliers
• Knowledge of ocean freight rates and pricing
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests at once
• A commercially minded approach
• Experience in an Ocean Pricing, Pricing Coordinator, Ocean Freight Coordinator, Freight Forwarder, Import/Export or Commercial role would be advantageous.
