Kelly Parrish Recruitment Limited is recruiting an Ocean Freight Coordinator for Basildon. The role requires a minimum of 2 years in Sea Export and you will manage export activities, declarations, invoicing, and customer communications.

You will work Mon-Fri 8:30am–5:30pm, with a salary in the 30,000–33,500 GBP range plus a benefits package, including on-site car parking. Basildon-based role with team collaboration and process improvement focus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' sea export experience.
• Strong IT skills with MS Word & Excel.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Air import experience would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Handle Export and Cross Trade activities including invoicing and transactions.
• Complete customs export declarations accurately and on time.
• Report amendments to customs declarations to line manager.
• Maintain and utilise the operational system and communicate with line manager.
• Maintain customer and inter-departmental relationships and provide regular updates.
• Assist in maintaining SOPs for the department and improve customer workflows.
• Ensure invoices for exports are completed within 48 hours of final activity.

Ocean Freight Coordinator - Basildon - £30,000 - £33,500pa + Fantastic Benefits Package

Our client based in Basildon are looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Coordinator with at least 2 years Sea Export experience to join their Sea Freight operations team. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills both written and oral, good knowledge of Word and Excel, be a strong team player and have a very good understanding of logistics processes and procedures. Duties for the Ocean Freight Coordinator: -

• Complete all Export and Cross Trade activities correctly and on time including financial, legal and invoicing transaction.
• Correctly complete all customs export declaration forms in a timely manner.
• Immediately report any amendments to the customs declaration forms to line manager.
• Maintain and utilise the operational system.
• Maintain regular communication with line manager, reporting new sales leads and handover of shipments.
• Assist in maintaining current SOPs for the department.
• Always maintain excellent customer and inter-departmental relationships, giving regular feedback to line manager.
• Follow up late customer payments in conjunction with credit control.
• Communicate quotations to the line manager/sales team and ensure all quotations are recorded on the system in one format.
• Implement and improve new efficiencies in customer workflow in conjunction with line manager.
• Accurately complete all invoicing for exports and clients within 48 hours of final activity.
• Ensure insurances are charged correctly and any insurance claims are handed to line manager without delay.

What you will need: -

• Min of 2 years Sea Export experience & good knowledge of logistics processes & procedures
• Ability to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team
• Be fully conversant in IT skills e.g. MS Word & Excel) and Excel reporting
• Have excellent communication skills over the telephone and e-mail
• Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail
• In addition to the above, Air Import experience would be a distinct advantage
