Job summary

Perform Recruitment’s client is seeking a Sea Freight Export Coordinator to join their ocean operations team in Manchester or Basildon. The role is permanent, full-time, and offers £31,500 DOE. You’ll manage export shipments end-to-end, prepare customs declarations, and raise invoices within 48 hours while supporting sales with quotations.

• At least 2 years’ experience in sea freight exports.
• Sea imports or air exports experience is a bonus.
• Solid understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
• Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel reporting.
• Clear, professional communication by phone and email.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• An administrative background and the ability to manage your own workload, both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing export and cross-trade shipments, including the financial, legal and invoicing side.
• Preparing and submitting customs export declarations accurately, and flagging any amendments to your manager straight away.
• Keeping the operating system up to date at all times.
• Raising invoices for completed exports within 48 hours.
• Recording quotations on the system in a consistent format and passing them to the sales team.
• Spotting and reporting new sales leads and handing over shipments.
• Working with credit control to follow up on late payments.
• Checking insurance charges are applied correctly and passing any claims on promptly.
• Helping keep department procedures (SOPs) current and finding ways to improve workflow.
• Building good relationships with customers and colleagues across departments.
• Covering for team members during holidays and sickness.

Perform Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client, an established international freight forwarding and logistics business with a strong UK presence, for a Sea Freight Export Coordinator to join their ocean operations team.

The Role

You’ll support the sea freight operations team in handling export and cross-trade shipments from start to finish, making sure everything is accurate, compliant and delivered on time.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch), 40 hours per week
